DNS Management
DNS (Domain Name System) records control how your domain directs traffic to your website, email, and other services.
Common DNS Record Types
- A Record - Points your domain to an IPv4 address
- AAAA Record - Points your domain to an IPv6 address
- CNAME Record - Creates an alias pointing to another domain
- MX Record - Directs email to your mail server
- TXT Record - Stores text data, often used for verification and security
Adding a DNS Record
- Go to My Domains and select your domain
- Click on DNS Settings
- Click "Add Record"
- Select the record type and fill in the required fields
- Save your changes
DNS changes can take 24-48 hours to propagate worldwide. Use a DNS propagation checker to monitor the status.
Domain Contacts
Domain contacts are the individuals or organizations listed in the domain registration records.
Contact Types
- Registrant - The legal owner of the domain
- Admin - Administrative contact for the domain
- Technical - Technical contact for DNS and hosting issues
- Billing - Contact for billing and payment matters
Managing Contacts
Access your saved contacts from the "My Domain Contacts" section in your account. You can:
- Create new contact profiles
- Edit existing contact information
- Assign contacts to domains during registration
Billing & Renewals
Keep your domains active by managing billing and renewal settings.
Auto-Renewal
We recommend enabling auto-renewal to prevent accidental domain expiration. With auto-renewal:
- Your domain renews automatically before expiration
- Payment is charged to your saved payment method
- You receive email notifications before renewal
Payment Methods
Manage your payment methods from the "Payment Methods" section in your account. You can add, remove, or update credit/debit cards used for renewals and purchases.
Domain Expiration
If a domain expires:
- Your website and email services may stop working
- There is typically a grace period to renew
- After the grace period, the domain may be released for others to register
Keep your payment method up to date to avoid service interruption.
